Government Medical College Srinagar

Government Medical College Srinagar was established in 1959 as one of the very first Medical Colleges of Independent India. The College is affiliated to University of Kashmir, and approved by Medical Council of India,New Delhi. S.M.H.S hospital became a major teaching institution imparting undergraduate and postgraduate medical training in all allied specialties of Medicine. The Official bed strength of the Hospital is 250. Several hospitals are associated with the medical college and patients from the entire Jammu and Kashmir are being referred to it.
