Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (MGMCRI) was established in 2001. The Institute is affiliated to University of Pondicherry and recognized by the Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Government of India,and the Government of Puducherry. The campus is situated in a beautiful sylvan setting at Pillayarkuppam, 14 Kilometers from Puducherry City, near the town of Cuddalore. M.G.M.C.R.I was recognized as a deemed university by university grants commission, New Delhi,on fourth August 2008.
