No negative marking for MBBS exam

Recently when Medical Council Of India had a conversation about the Medical Entrance exam and its rules, it was announced that the answer for Should the NEET( Medical Entrance Exam) have negative marking? lied as a question itself . Later, when an expert committee took an aggregate to look into modalities of the proposed entrance exam for admissions to MBBS course across the country, and finally sanctioned that there should be no negative marking in the exam .

The committee has also announced that, the exam shall have objective-type questions and percentile scores in order to set the merit of all applicants. “The main reason to remove the negative marking has been acclaimed considering the Low scores obtained by the candidates in the Entrance Exam” said the Committee sources .

All these changes in Medical entrance exam are being made to decrease the number of MBBS seats left Vacant even after the entrance and admissions. As a result MCI has also reduced the Cut-off for the admissions. To be very clear about this modifications, they are submitted to MCI only after consulting the Health Ministry Officials and the MCI boards of governors will take the final roar . This would be the first step since the very start of MBBS, that the exam pattern has changed essentially .

The Medical Council of India (MCI) is a judicial body demonstrating the responsibilities to establish and maintain the high standards of Medical education and Recognize the Medical Qualifications in India . Thus an ambiguity is that whether this change will turn out to be favor or burden for Students of MBBS, but still hoping for the best MCI moves on with the change .
