Technology of Education is most simply and comfortably defined as an array of tools that might prove helpful in advancing students learning and may be measured in how and why individuals behave. Educational technology relies on a board definition of the word "Technology".
Technology in other words can refer to material objects of use to humanity, such as machines or hardware, but it can also encompass broader themes, including systems, methods of organization and techniques. Though some modern tools include, but most of them are not limited to overhead projectors, laptop computers and calculators. New tools such as "Smartphones" and games have drawn serious attention for their learning potential.
Recently on addressing the 25th regional conference of the Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC), Bihar and Jharkhand, which was held on Friday with the theme "Technology in Education and value system" an Predicant Fr.William D'Souza said that "Technology should be used meaningfully for Value Education, without mis-using it in any way".
The program was inaugurated by Amarjeet Sinha, the principal secretary, education who had appeared as the chief guest. He said "School is an institution to maximize human potential. No Technology can bridge the human gap". He also assured all government support to ensure development of children.
On congratulating the association for its Silver Jubilee Fr. D'Souza said "Principals should always be ready for any eventuality. The topic of discussion is very suitable as there has always been a debate regarding the system of education". "The prime role of education is to prove way for demanding and highly specialized careers, but it also aims to broaden the student's perspectives" he added.
